Last week I published a post (“The Obamacare Exit Ramp”) about health insurance available on the free market, as an alternative to overpriced and low-quality plans available through the ironically-named Affordable Care Act marketplace.
The post took off and I received great feedback, from MDs to long-time insurance sales professionals. These people believe that ACA plan costs are unsustainable and that the market is desperate for better options.
Even US gov't health officials admit that free-market plans offer superior coverage to Obamacare, at a fraction of the cost.
In Wisconsin, Obamacare plans are more expensive than ever. Families are suffering. Meanwhile their senator, Tammy Baldwin, has led the effort to kill any free-market competitors to Obamacare.
She does this not because she wants to protect consumers, but because she wants to protect Obamacare. The big insurance carriers are among her biggest donors.
Her Republican challenger, Eric Hovde, is closing the gap and is now trailing 49-46. That means he is practically within the margin of error for most polls, and victory is within reach.
I think this issue can help carry him into the lead. Wisconsinites need to know that, even as middle-class families struggle to pay their premiums and the big insurers deny more claims then ever, that Tammy Baldwin has chosen to represent the interests of the big insurance cabal than the interests of her constituents.
Hopefully this post makes it into the inboxes of the Hovde campaign team. I’m grateful to anyone who can forward it.
